AMS Data Center, Hosting Facilities Meet SAS 70 Standards
for Data Security
Bothell, WA - June 1, 2005 – AMS announced it has received third-party assurance under Statement of Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) for the effectiveness of controls and processes associated with AMS’ world-class hosting facilities, the AMS Data Center and backup center. Continuing its SAS 70 program, AMS has successfully met SAS 70 Type II standards, which provide industry-standard assurances required by most hosting services customers, especially those in the insurance and financial industries.
Issued under the guidance by the American Institute of Certified Pubic Accountants (AICPA), SAS 70 Type II assurance means that AMS Services’ upgrades to the AfW Online, AMS 360 Online and Sagitta Online applications into the AMS Data Center environment are properly authorized, tested, implemented and documented. SAS 70 provides the proof that the AMS Data Center has processes and controls in place to restrict logical and physical access to systems resources to properly authorized individuals therefore assuring AMS’ online customers greater levels of reliability, availability and security.
