Harleysville Insurance Provides Agents with Newest AMS Interface Offering to Enhance Efficiency and Ease of Doing Business
HARLEYSVILLE, PA - October 7, 2004 - Harleysville Insurance has announced that its independent insurance agents now have the capability to access commercial and personal lines billing, claims and policy records, make inquiries, and enter endorsements in real-time through TransactNOW™ from AMS Services.
“Our goal is to make doing business easier and more efficient by establishing a more robust electronic relationship between our agents’ systems and our own,” explains Timothy O’Malley, senior vice president of marketing for Harleysville. “Through TransactNOW, our agents will seamlessly transition from their agency management system into Harleysville’s system. We expect a very favorable reaction from the large segment of our agency force that uses AMS—and we see this action as an important first step toward our longer-term strategy of providing true upload capability.”
TransactNOW is the newest interface offering from AMS Services and enables AMS management system users to inquire about, view and process certain transactions with insurance carriers real-time without having to exit their agency management systems.

Since its launch early in 2003, more than 2,800 agencies are actively using TransactNOW. TransactNOW uses ACORD® standards and XML technology to integrate carrier Web site functionality into agency management system workflow. This means transactions and carriers can be rapidly added, and agents can rapidly deploy.
